2003, guests at The Lodge at Parent Lake caught more than 35 trophy northern pike.
The largest trophy northern pike we have seen was 48 inches long and weighed 33
pounds. Many of our guests report catching 30 to 50 northern pike per boat per
day. The average northern pike caught is between 25 and 35 inches.
The Lodge at Parent Lake offers affordable fishing vacations for families and
groups who are looking for that dream trophy northern pike. Parent Lake teems
with trophy walleye as well as pike, plus Artic char, sturgeon, yellow perch and
whitefish, even a few muskie.
This Canadian fishing paradise is easily accessible on paved roads right to the
door—no gravel or penetration roads! Drive in to the Lodge or take a commercial
flight to Val d’Or, Quebec, through Montreal, and we will come and pick you up
at the airport.
The Lodge at Parent Lake rents by the cabin by the week, making a trip for four
or more available for less than $100.00 U.S. per person per week. All cabins are
housekeeping cabins, or European plan—guests prepare their own meals. All cabins
are fully electric and fully equipped. The only things you need to bring are personal
towels and your own fishing equipment.
If you prefer to fish for your trophy northern pike and walleye from your own
boat, we have a gravel boat ramp and long dock at the main Lodge. Or you may rent
a boat and motor from the Lodge. We have 16 foot double hulled deep keel fiberglass
boats, with new 25 HP Mercury motors available for rent.
The Lodge has a convenience store and tackle shop that specializes in baits proven
to catch trophy northern pike and walleye in the dark waters of Parent Lake. We
also stock ice, bait, gas and outboard oil, and souvenirs.
